Sfela of Messinia P.D.O. cheese made from goat’s milk (Cheese of Fire)

The “slice of Fire” is Protected Designation of Origin and is manufactured exclusively in Messinia. Sfela The name comes from the word “sfelida” ie strip, slice. The traditional white hard cheese, created exclusively by gidoproveio milk coagulates with traditional rennet maturing in wooden barrels. The special spicy, salty taste, accompanied by skordolado and fresh thyme, an excellent accompaniment to spirits like ouzo and raki.
