The unique specialty of the menu is the rare opportunity of the visitor to taste traditional Athonite recipes in a special marriage of contemporary Greek creative cuisine with the Athonite tradition.

The Athos monastic cuisine is honored, in the “Kalamatianos” as a special section includes recipes with the seal of monk Epifanios, as he has created in collaboration with the restaurant chef Chris Gremos, with fresh, selected ingredients. Athos grouper with onion juice, swordfish with red beans, the octopus in wine sauce with couscous, the cuttlefish pasta, the Mount Athos fish soup, are some of the Athonite menu culinary compositions.

These recipes were granted with the blessing of the monk Epiphanios, who lives in the Sacred Seat of Saint Eustathios, the known Mylopotamos of Mount Athos. He himself presented them to “Kalamatianos” at an event that took place in the restaurant for its 40th anniversary, and later gave them to Kalamatianos and the chef of the restaurant with whom he collaborated to finalize them.
